Program in Nonprofit Community Leadership

Supported by the York Federal Foundation Fund of York County Community Foundation.

The Fellows Program offers outstanding nonprofit executive leaders the opportunity to spend a year developing professionally while expanding their leadership skills. With a grant of up to $5,000, executives can pursue their development and connect with their nonprofit peers during regular workshop sessions throughout the year.
 
The selection committee seeks applicants with strong and relevant professional goals. Priority is given to applicants that have:
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in one's field.
  • A number of years of leadership with a minimum of two years as executive director or president at current or prior nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership within the York community.
  • Plans that meaningfully increase the applicant's capacity as a leader in the community.

  • Plans that stretch the boundaries or are otherwise unattainable without the fellowship.
  • Plans that will add value to the executive's nonprofit and the York County community.
Please complete the following items and attach them to your application:
Please keep the narrative to no more than five pages and number your responses.  
    A.  Narrative 
  1. A personal and organizational biographical statement that addresses the characteristics listed above (please do not attach your resume). 
  2. Over the next two years, what professional goals or areas of growth do you expect to achieve through the Fellowship?
  3. What specific activities do you plan to pursue with Fellowship funds?
  4. How will these activities lead to accomplishing the goals you set in answering question #2?
  5. What is the anticipated impact of your plan on your leadership development, your organization, and on the York community?
  6. Describe your experience with collaborative forms of leadership or projects.
  7. Why is this the right time for you to pursue this Fellowship?
  8. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
    B.  Proposal Budget and Budget Narrative:
Provide a complete budget for your project INCLUDING other sources of funds you will be leveraging. If necessary, include a narrative for a more detailed explanation.
   C.  List of Governing Board Members and Affiliations
   D.  One (1) copy of the organization's 501(c) 3 tax determination letter
   E.   A letter of recommendation from a member of your organization's Board of Directors.
