Hahn Home Fund for Women Grant Program
Since the creation of the Hahn Home Fund for Women in 2007, a committee of volunteers has been working to identify the most pressing needs of aging women. Their research concluded that:
- The growth in the aging population will have a significant impact on our community
- Older women are more likely to live in poverty
- Remaining independent is the most pressing concern of aging women.
With this in mind, the goal of the Hahn Home Grant Program is to help women age with dignity, independence and health.
Focus Areas/Objectives for Grantmaking:
- Create supportive communities to help women, age 55 and older, maintain independent living in their residence of choice.
- Improve access to services for aging women and caregivers through better communication, education and outreach.
- Improve the quality of elder care through education of caregivers and direct care workers.
