ENERGY CONSERVATION

York County Community Foundation provides technical and financial assistance to York County charitable nonprofit organizations to help them conserve energy-and reduce operating costs. The Community Foundation provides this support through the Charles G. Eyster Family Fund and the Energy Conservation Fund, which was established by the work of Mr. Eyster.

Technical Assistance Services. The Energy Program consultant provides free technical assistance services to evaluate energy efficiency opportunities and to assist with the design of new buildings or renovation projects.
Financial Assistance Grants. The Foundation will select worthy projects for grants including:
  • Green Buildings. To assist with the design of high performance green buildings which commit to achieving certification under the LEED™ Green Building Rating System.
  • Small Nonprofit Organizations. To assist with the cost of renovation projects by nonprofits with a demonstrated need and an operating budget of under $500,000/year. Considerations will include annual energy costs and potential savings.
  • Recommendations by the Energy Program consultant for financial assistance grants are considered quarterly by the York County Community Foundation Energy Committee.
NRG Grant applications do not have a specific due date, but are reviewed quarterly.
