York, PA — York County Community Foundation (YCCF) is pleased to announce that five local nonprofit leaders have been named to the 2018 class of York Federal Fellows. This year’s fellows include Todd Fogdall, Appell Center for the Performing Arts; Deb Gogniat, Healthy York County Coalition; Christy Renjilian, Childcare Consultants; Joyce Santiago, York Area Development Corporation; and Mary Studzinski, Pennsylvania Immigrant Resource Center.
The York Federal Fellows program of YCCF offers outstanding nonprofit executive leaders the opportunity to spend a year developing professionally and personally while expanding their leadership skills. With a grant of up to $5,000 each, the executives pursue their development and connect with their nonprofit peers during regular workshop sessions throughout the year. The program is supported by the YCCF’s York Federal Foundation Fund and has named 55 fellows previously over the past eleven years.
Bob Pullo, on behalf of York Federal Savings & Loan Foundation, and the visionary William “Bill” Wolf, founded the York Federal Fellows program in 2006 to encourage and support strong leadership in York’s nonprofit sector. “Providing an opportunity for nonprofit executives to engage in leadership training is one way of showing appreciation for the work that they do, and their contributions to our York County community,” said Pullo.
“Building capacity of our nonprofit partners is one way YCCF helps steward the gifts entrusted to us. By ensuring that our community has strong nonprofit leaders, our grants can have the maximum impact on creating positive change,” said Jane M. Conover, president and chief executive officer of YCCF.
York Federal Fellows apply to the program in the fall, and are considered on criteria that include a demonstrated collaborative approach to leadership in the community, a self-development plan that meaningfully increases the applicant’s capacity as a leader in the community, and plans that add value to the applicant’s organization and the York community, among others.
