Our 2017 Grants

YCCF takes very seriously the responsibility of stewarding community funds entrusted to our care by the extraordinary generosity of York County donors. Volunteers and staff vet every grant proposal to strive for the best possible community outcomes. Below is a list of the grants that were awarded in the past year through YCCF’s discretionary funds.

Fund for York County, Education and Workforce:

  • $9,526 to York Fresh Food Farms for Get York Hands Dirty
  • $5,000 to Steam Into History for Steam Into Summer
  • $10,000 to Children’s Home of York for Children’s Home of York – Bridges Program
  • $140,000 to Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania To support York City School District
  • $20,000 to Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania to support salaries of Site Coordinators in York City School District.  This is Year 1/3
  • $8,360 to Leg Up Farm, Inc. for Using Music Interventions to Support Speech and Occupational Gains in Special Needs Students
  • $10,000 to MANTEC for the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?  Student Video Contest
  • $7,400 to YMCA of York and York County for an Aquaponics Feasibility Study
  • $4,500 to York College of Pennsylvania for YCP Hacks 2017
  • $9,965 to CASA for Bilingual Workforce and Economic Empowerment Program
  • $8,000 to Susquehanna SCORE for the New Business Hot List

Fund for York County, Downtown and Neighborhood Revitalization:

  • $5,000 to Appalachian Trail Conservancy for a Feasibility Study for the South Mountain Trolley Greenway Rail-Trail
  • $17,000 to the City of York for Messaging Campaign for Gavin Advertising to develop communications plan educating community/stakeholders about city’s fiscal crisis
  • $60,000 to Downtown Inc for Tracking and Advancing the Revitalization of Downtown York
  • $30,000 to Salem Square Community Association, Inc. to support the Elm Street Program
  • $57,000 to the City of York for the City of York’s Gun Violence Intervention Initiative
