What is the Women's Giving Circle (WGC)?

- A dynamic group of 85+ women engaged in an exciting venture in strategic philanthropy.
- A generous group of 85+ women who have invested more than $350,000 to help shape the future of their community!
"Strategic philanthropy bridges 'what is' and 'what can be.' This is an exciting venture in philanthropy for all of us."
The Women's Giving Circle of York County Community Foundation is one of a growing number of women's giving circles that have sprung up across the country over the past decade. Although they vary in their size and interests, their common thread is bringing together women who want to learn more about their community and leverage their charitable dollars for greater impact. What are the WGC's investment priorities?
Programs and study throughout the year focus on the WGC's interest in addressing these major themes of the YorkCounts Action Plan:
- Revitalizing York's urban core, with particular interest in healthy neighborhoods and a vibrant cultural and commercial center.
- Improving educational opportunities, especially for those at risk.
- Improving the quality of place for young professionals in York.
- Encouraging a diverse community of people living in harmony with one another.
