The York Federal Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation launched the York Federal Fellows Program in Nonprofit Community Leadership in 2006. This initiative allows leaders in the community to break new ground, learn new skills, and experiment with new approaches for leadership and professional development through a completely personalized and self-directed year-long program.

Louis J. Castriota, Jr., President and CEO of Leg Up Farm Lou will attend the Mikki Williams Speakers School in Chicago to strengthen his public speaking skills and will work with Dame Management Executive Coaching to sharpen his leadership skills. Lou expects these two experiences will help him "create a culture of success at Leg Up Farm where we improve the services we offer to children with special needs and maintain the viability of the business for future generations." |

Bobbi Anne Cavanaugh, Executive Director of York County Literacy Council Bobbi will follow a customized 10-session Lifestyle and Career Coaching program, and will also attend a Fitness Academy. Through these experiences, Bobbi seeks "a deeper understanding of my natural attributes and goals that will help me achieve personal and professional success," and to be "more engaged and better equipped to dedicate herself" to the goals of York County Literacy Council. |

Eve Gardner, Executive Director of Healthy York Network Eve will attend a communications course that will help enhance her skills at facilitating community and individual dialogues around health and healthcare reform. She will also pursue her passion by attending a breadmaking course. Eve hopes that this combination will help her to "demonstrate a willingness to listen with respect and interest and to use bread as a medium to bridge what may appear to be a deep personal divide." |

Robin K. Rohrbaugh, Executive Director of Healthy York County Coalition Robin will use her Fellowship to study peer counties in New Hampshire and Oregon that show better outcomes than York County in several health indicator areas. Robin will meet with executives, volunteer leaders, funders, and key stakeholders in these communities, and will conduct extensive research to learn how other communities use community public health initiatives to improve the population's health. Robin is looking forward to leading Healthy York County Coalition as it evolves and becomes a more effective agent of change. |
